Sudbourne is an inclusive school and we want to ensure all children, whatever their needs and abilities, have access to a rich and enjoyable curriculum.

Through group work and regular tracking, our experienced teaching staff can identify any learning difficulties or barriers to learning which may emerge.

Our aim is early identification of any barriers to learning, as this gives us the greatest chance of successful intervention. Teaching staff work in partnership to address any issues through a programme of support measures.

We employ a range of curriculum support teachers, learning support assistants and learning mentors who all play a role in providing extra support where it is needed.

We also employ a full time Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo), Amy Tomkins, whose sole focus is to support children with additional needs, track their progress and identify what measures the school needs to put in place to help them.

We have produced a Local Offer document which is designed to give families an overview of the ways in which children who require extra intervention are identified and supported during and beyond lessons at Sudbourne Primary School.
