PE

PE is an important part of school life at Primary School and we expect all children to participate.

PE provides children with the opportunity to participate in a wide range of activities that enable them to develop both physical and social skills.

Lessons are taught in keeping with the National Curriculum and all children have the opportunity to take part in skills acquisition, gymnastics, dance and team sports such as cricket, basketball, handball and football. It is also a requirement of the National Curriculum for children to learn to swim; in years 3 & 4, pupils attend lessons once a week for a term at Brixton Recreation Centre Pool where they learn to swim 25 metres. We also participate in a number or inter-school competitions and events.

Please check the Curriculum Outline for the term for up to date information on the days that you child has PE. If your child needs to be excused from his/her lesson for medical reasons, please write a note of explanation to the class teacher.
