Abel & Cole: Farmers Choice Fruit & Veg Scheme
Abel and Cole help us to raise funds for the school - £1,161 last year! They offer a selection of organic fruit and veg bags for you (parents/carers/teachers) to buy. Each week the contents vary in order to offer the best seasonal produce available. You can see the likely contents of each weeks bags by checking http://www.abelandcole.co.uk/shop . There can be a mixture of favourites, eg apples, toms, carrots, bananas along with more unusual items like purple sprouting broccoli, rhubarb, etc. You pay for the bag and Abel and Cole give us (the PTA) 25% of the sales!
There are 3 types of bags – fruit, vegetable and combined bag of fruit and veg.
Fruit Bag - containing three generous portions of seasonal fruit-bowl favourites for £6.50
Veg Bag - containing five seasonal vegetables and potatoes for £8.50
Fruit and Veg Bag - containing three fruits, four seasonal vegetables and potatoes for £11.50
How does it work?
1) If you are interested in the scheme contact Ruth (Natasha's mum) via firstname.lastname@example.org or come and talk to me in the playground.
2) Place and pay for your order with Ruth, ready for the Wednesday of the following week.
3) Every Wednesday, your pre-ordered bag is delivered to the school ready for you to collect at 3.15pm. You collect your bag from Ruth at the sheltered area next to the main gate. (If you are not at school at 3.15 then we can make alternative arrangements)
4) Collect your bag, confirm your order for next week and pay in advance. (Orders can be made on a termly/weekly/bi-weekly/ad-hoc basis)
It's a great way of encouraging your family to eat fresh fruit and veg, at the same time as raising money for the school!
If you are a busy working Sudbourne parent who simply doesn't have the time to help the PTA but you would like to support financially, then please contemplate Gift Aid.
Gift Aid is an easy, tax efficient way of giving charitably. By filling out a Gift Aid declaration form for every £1 you donate, Sudbourne School PTA will be able to reclaim 25p making your £1 into £1.25. Once you have filled out the declaration form there is no more for you to do. If you do want to make any adjustments you can do this by emailing email@example.com
