Our Performance and Results

- Year 6 Standard Assessment Tasks (SATS)
Key Stage 2 Results (2022)
Sudbourne achieved extremely well in reading this year, as is standard for us, and we far exceeded our target. 90% of our pupils achieved the expected standard, compared with just 74% nationally. We were unsure the impact that COVID would have on our SATS results, as the last SATS were held in 2019. Reading and Maths are assessed by standardised tests sat under test conditions. We are very proud of our children doing so well in these rigorous tests, such a short time after Covid lockdowns.
We are happy to see that our children achieved in line with national outcomes in maths in terms of expected attainment. We celebrate our Greater Depth (GDS) outcomes, as they far exceed national, particularly in reading. Over a third of our children achieved GDS in reading, over 8% higher than pupils nationally. This was a similar picture for maths, whereby nearly 40% of our pupils achieved greater depth, with an even greater margin over national pupils outcomes for GDS of just 22%, a 16% difference.
Writing is assessed by teacher assessment. Historically, our writing results have exceeded national figures by 5-10% for expected standard, and over 10% for greater depth. This year, our results were lower than national by 3-5% for the first time. What we draw from this, is the need for us to moderate our assessments with other schools so that we can be confident of them. The results appear anomalous with our reading results.

Performance Tables
Schools & College Performance Tables
The Department for Education publish performance tables for primary schools across the UK. The tables report on the percentage of children achieving level 4 or above in both English and Maths, and on the percentage making expected progress in English and Maths as measured by assessments at the end of Key Stage 2 in Year 6.
You can visit their website here: DfE School & College Performance Tables.
