Pupil Voice and Leadership
Article 12 in The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child states that, ‘Every child has the right to express their views, feelings and wishes in all matters affecting them, and to have their views considered and taken seriously’ (UNICEF 1992).
Pupil Voice and Leadership at Sudbourne Primary is about the empowerment of pupils to enable them to be engaged and involved in their learning process and the life of the school. We aim to support pupils with becoming global citizens with strong morals, understanding of how to impact change and to be aware of their rights.
We encourage children to be :
- Independent learners
- Critical and creative thinkers
- Confident to voice opinions in appropriate ways
- Good listeners
